Ely

While my parents were visiting, we took a short train ride up to Ely for a day to visit the Ely Cathedral and the market. The weather was perfect, so we decided to take a tour to climb up to the highest tower of the church and get a view of the surrounding area. The Cathedral is gorgeous and we really enjoyed wandering around and learning more about the history of the region. Once we made it to the top, we could see the beautiful countryside stretching out in every direction.

After the tour of the Cathedral, we grabbed some lunch at a nearby cafe and did some shopping at the Ely market. We were really impressed with how nice the market was – we were so busy shopping that we forgot to take any photos!

We finished the day with some nice cold drinks along the river before hopping on the train back to Cambridge. We had a great day in Ely and hope to make it back there again soon!
