Lake Como I

After our second day in Milan, we took the train up to Lake Como. We arrived in Como around midday and went for a short walk along the lakeshore. We had some delicious pizza for lunch while overlooking the water and enjoying the warm sunshine – something we hadn’t seen in England for a long time!

After lunch we made our way back to Como and explored the town. It was a Sunday, so a lot of the shops were closed, but it was a beautiful night and there were lots of people out wandering the streets. We stopped near the duomo and listened to some street performers, and of course treated ourselves to some gelato!

We had heard that Como wasn’t as pretty compared to some of the other villages around the lake, but we thought the old part of the city was really nice – so we were really excited to cruise around the lake the next day and see some of the other towns. More on that next time!

The duomo in the centre of Como – just a massive building in a fairly small piazza. It’s beautiful, but it was a bit overpowering!
